Quiet VoiceQuiet Voice is a fresh, emerging production company, creating high quality programming and founded by filmmaker, Stephen Rudder. Focusing on films and documentaries its aims are to work towards a more positive awareness of television and film’s ability to educate, inform and transform.  Company credits include: Ruby’s Slippers, a fictional narrative, exploring the theme of sibling rivalry. In addition to being screened by the BBC it was the winner of the Soho Images Best Film Award and a finalist at the Hollywood Black Film Festival as well as being screened at  festivals such as Oberhausen.

A talented photographer, Stephen uses his skilful evocative imagery to bring out the beauty even in the conflicts and harshness of the worlds he portrays. In his dramas, Stephen’s  deep understanding of the human condition not only enables him to carve out wonderful characters but he is also able to convey this understanding to his actors ensuring they capture the right essence for his vision.

This same ability is also evident in his documentary work. The humanness coming from a genuine connection with the film’s participants which reflects back in the relaxed authenticity he the captures. He doesn’t just film a world he absorbs it and gives it back with intimacy and striking imagery to the audience.
